Give the Gift of Fireworks

  • Fireworks are an important piece of Japanese culture, with a history that goes back to the Edo Period (1603-1867).
Fireworks every summer has always been a given, to the point that we never gave it much thought. But then, when the COVID-19 pandemic struck and we experienced a summer without fireworks, many of us realized how important a custom it is for us.
Now that the pandemic has passed, this summer’s fireworks displays are going to be more exciting than ever. However, many people are unaware that the number of fireworks festivals is actually decreasing every year. As fireworks festivals become fewer in number, the number of Japanese pyrotechnic companies is also declining, and the pyrotechnicians meant to carry on this craft are disappearing as well.
Japanese fireworks have been created using a high level of technology that is very well-regarded worldwide. Many people say that Japanese fireworks are beautiful, but not many people are able to put into words what is so wonderful about Japanese fireworks, or why they find them so beautiful. There is still a great amount of unknown potential in Japanese fireworks that has yet to be tapped. If this downward trend continues, I fear that this potential could be lost complete before we are able to make the most of it.
I strongly believe in the need to preserve Japanese fireworks culture and its technology for the future. To make this possible, it is important for Japanese pyrotechnics companies to produce as many fireworks as possible and to have opportunities to launch fireworks throughout the year. By doing this, we can make possible for both manufacturing and launching techniques to be passed on to the next generation.
At large fireworks festivals, you can see a number of wonderful fireworks, and watching the fireworks fill up the night sky is quite a moving experience. However, such fireworks festivals are largely held in the summer on weekends, so the number of launches that can be held is also limited. There are many fireworks shops that want to take on work but are unable to handle all of it. Cancellations due to typhoons are not uncommon, and the economic impact of that is not small by any means. The idea for this project began with the idea that this situation could be fixed by increasing the number of small-scale fireworks launches throughout the year.
Private Fireworks have always been done independently by individual fireworks shops. For those who wanted to have their own fireworks display, there were many hurdles to overcome before they could make it happen. They may not know much about fireworks, where to go, who to talk to, how much it would cost, how to talk to firework shops, and so on. We began offering this service in the hopes that eliminating these obstacles and expanding the scope of available services by bringing together activities that were previously performed by individual fireworks shops separate from one another would allow Private Fireworks to become more widely known and more accessible to the public.
We would like to see the culture of setting off fireworks for someone, or even for yourself, to celebrate an important, once-in-a-lifetime occasion take root as an option available alongside things like traveling or having a fancy meal to celebrate events and anniversaries.

  • Each and every firework is packed full of emotion.

Private Fireworks are fireworks launched for somebody, or for yourself, and convey a great deal of emotion. They are not the extravagant displays you see at fireworks festivals. There are not so many massive fireworks launched. Even without the same sense of grandeur, the power and excitement of seeing fireworks conveying people's thoughts and feelings go off right in front of you, just for you, will last as a memory that you will cherish for a lifetime.

  • Fireworks have the power to convey thoughts and feelings in a way that words cannot.

Thoughts and feelings are not tangible things, so sometimes we feel as if we have forgotten them or that they have disappeared, but the truth is that they are not forgotten, and they will not disappear. The emotions we feel when someone’s thoughts and feelings are expressed and conveyed to us remain with us forever as cherished memories. Private Fireworks can create a memorable setting for that moment, forming memories that you fondly look back on at any time.

  • Fireworks
  • Local pyrotechnicians in your town doing their job just for you.

Surely many of you have been to a fireworks festival. And surely many of you have been wowed by the beautiful fireworks you saw there. But how many people have actually met the pyrotechnicians that create and launch those fireworks? Private Fireworks give you the opportunity to meet a pyrotechnician, which is quite a rare opportunity, and they will prepare and launch fireworks right in front of you, just for you. The power and experience of seeing those fireworks will surely be a very moving event that you will remember for the rest of your life.
